Honeywell Launches GasAlertMicroClip X3

CALGARY, Alberta, September 04, 2015 — Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the GasAlertMicroClip X3, a portable multi-gas detector that offers an all-new oxygen sensor with a five-year life expectancy and the industry’s first Ingress Protection rating of 68 for multi-gas units, providing extra protection against continuous water and dust intrusion.

Engineered by BW Technologies by Honeywell, GasAlertMicroClip X3 will reduce the cost of gas detection for customers by delivering sustained, accurate performance in harsh conditions, with no sensor replacement costs likely over the life of the unit.

In today’s industrial environments, oxygen sensors are typically depleted more quickly than other sensors. Honeywell’s new 40xLL oxygen sensor in the GasAlertMicroClip X3 uses an innovative new mechanical design that replaces the traditional lead anode to enable it to operate consistently for five years, more than twice as long as standard oxygen sensors. The sensor also stands up to transient temperature, pressure, humidity and other environmental extremes without compromising accuracy, thus ensuring an even higher level of safety and reliability.

“With some portable multi-gas detectors, companies need to replace the battery and some sensors after a couple of years, which can increase cost and equipment downtime,” said Jacob Spector, global product marketing manager for portable multi-gas detectors. “But the GasAlertMicroClip X3 delivers a three-year warranty at an affordable price and no replacement costs. Plus, the unit was engineered to withstand harsh conditions, with an IP 68 rating that ensures complete protection against dust, as well as immersion in water for up to 45 minutes. With this detector’s added reliability and performance, businesses can keep their operations safe and compliant while better managing costs.”

GasAlertMicroClip X3 offers a richly featured package including four-gas, simultaneous monitoring; user-friendly, one-button operation; compact, lightweight design; IntelliFlash visual compliance; rechargeable lithium polymer battery that provides 18 hours of runtime and performance in extreme temperature range (-20°C to 50°C, -4°F to 122°F).
